Established in 1917, Chulalongkorn University is one of the most prestigious higher education institution in Thailand. The main auditorium of Chulalongkorn University was originally constructed in 1939 with inspiration from Thai architecture. The auditorium’s main purpose is used for the University’s convocation ceremonies, which is presided by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
VICHAI TRADING 1983 became involved with the project in January 2015 and the
project was completed and delivered in May 2015. All the old equipment was replaced and the integrator started building the new systems from scratch with the aim to allow all attendees to experience the convocation ceremony in the best possible way.
The Chulalongkorn University Auditorium now have advanced and up-t0-date Audio-Visual-Lighting system that is integrated discreetly into the interior of the building. Mainly for the audio system, Tannoy speakers are used. As K. Phicht Ngantubtim points out, “Tannoy speakers deliver on quality and have good SPL which made them ideal for the job. The install location of the speakers was also quite high, so the speakers needed to perform to a high degree in order to deliver audio to the whole auditorium.” In conclusion, the installation at Chulalongkorn University Auditorium was straightforward, with special consideration given to the aesthetics of the premises. The AV systems are fully functional and the university is happy with the end results.
